JOHN P. KOTAGIDES, age 72 of Canton, passed away Thursday evening after a brief illnein thess. Born in Canton to the late Harry J. and Nicoliny (John) Kotagides he was preceded in death by sister-in-law Judy Kotagides. John was a 1958 graduate of Timken High School, and served in the Army at Ft. Lee Virginia, where he met his wife Barbara. John retired from the City of Canton after a 27 year career as a policeman then went to work for the Stark County Prosecutors office as an investigator retiring in 2002. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the F.O.P. Survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara (Amiss) Kotagides, daughters and sons-in-law Penni and Dave Jones, Kim and John Correll, grandson Colton Jones, brothers and sister-in-law Harry Kotagides, Jim and Olga Kotagides, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 9:30 to 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with funeral services to follow at 11, Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
