John A. Moauro, age 92 of Canton, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2023. Born in Canton to parents Luigi and Nicoletta (Battista) Moauro of the Italian Province Isernia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Beverly J. (Feller) Mauro, grandson Ryan Jedel, brother Nicholas, sisters Lucy Phillips, Rose Strader, Jennie Borland, Pauline Brooks, and Phyllis VanDrunen.

John was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Canton. He enjoyed being in his garden and woodworking. He was inducted into the Stark County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame in 2015 for his years of playing Fumbleball. John was an Air Force Veteran serving from 1951-1954.

John is survived by his children John (Carol) Moauro, Pam (Dave) Stropki, Joe (Susan) Moauro, Toni (Jeff) Chatelain, Mike Moauro, 20 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Canton. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Akron Children's Hospital Cancer.
