John Sakolevas, age 84 of North Canton, passed away early Thursday. He was born in Chalkidiki, Greece, where he was a farmer, to the late Immanuel and Garifalia Sakolevas. John was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. He worked various jobs including Superior Meats. He came to America in 1969 and established residence. John was a loving husband and father; he also loved his granddaughters dearly. He was a generous man who would give freely. He will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Simela; sons Emanuel and Socrates (April); granddaughters Kaliope and Simelitsa; and two brothers and one sister. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 12 noon to 1:00 pm at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
