John Stasin age 83 of Canton, passed away peacefully after a battle with Leukemia. Born in Messini, Greece to the late Dimitrios and Maria (Dimitroulias) Stasinopoulos he was preceded in death by sisters Georgia Vasiliathou and Christina Skoti. John was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Men's Club, Senior Citizen's Club of Holy Trinity and the A.H.E.P.A. #59. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 25 years of service. John was a vivacious man who lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Clare (Zantopoulos) Stasin, daughter Maria Stasin-Wilson, grandchildren John and Clare Wilson, sister Anthoula Alevras, nephew Petros (Hrissa) Alevras and children Clare and Raymond (Nico, Anna) and Dino, niece Katerina Koufos and children Maria and Rob (Katerina, Alex), Vasilios and Kosta, cousin Toula Mechas and family, several other relatives in the USA and Greece and many loving friends. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10 to 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with services to follow at 11, Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Church.
