Obituary

Joseph "Baggy" Delio88, passed away peacefully on Jul. 31, 2013 at Bethany Nursing Home. Born March 19, 1925 to Gregorio and Philomena Delio, Joe was a life resident of Canton. He served his county in World War II as a paratrooper with the 82 st Airborne and retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of service. Joe was an avid golfer and pinochle player. In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Catherine "Cookie" (Caley) Delio and sister, Eva Delio. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joe Michael and Arlene of Canton; sister Mary Delio of Gardena, CA; and lifelong friend and "brother", Dave Falasco and his wife, Stella. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2 at Rossi Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Fr. Tom Bishop officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. The Delio family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Crossroads Hospice for their compassion and support. Once again we would like to express how eternally grateful we are to our Bethany "family" who loved and laughed with Joe and provided such extraordinary care every day. There truly are angels among us.
