Joseph Cavalier, age 91, of North Canton, died Sunday, January 11 ^th , 2015 at Aultman hospital after as sudden, one week illness. He was born June 6 ^th , 1923, in Middlebranch, Ohio, to the late Marco and Prospera (Guarnieri) Cavalier. Joe was a graduate of Middlebranch High School and aw a US Army Veteran serving in he South Pacific. He retired from Diamond Portland Cement. Co. and was a part-time Realtor. Joe loved to tell a good story, loved to play golf, which he enjoyed until the age of 89. He especially loved dancing, having attended his last dance on New Year's Eve! He and his late wife Mimi (Shaheen), were a vision on the dance floor; and now they are together dancing again! He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Ben V. Marconi Sons of Italy Lodge #1628, the Elks and the Phoenicians. IN addition to Joe's parents and wife, Mimi, he was preceded in death by his brother, John. He is survived by his son Joe (Tina) Cavalier; daughter, Jennice (Gary) Welker; grandchildren, Jordan (Meghan) and Jessica Welker and Jake and Mitch Cavalier; his sister, Louise Fernandez, and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the wonderful, creative, patient ladies from Comfort Keepers who make Joe's last years more easygoing and carefree! Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home and Friday morning from 10 to 11 am. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
