Joseph M. DiRocco, age 88 of Canton, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017. Born in Canton to the late Sam and Rose (Tannotta) DiRocco, he was a graduate of Timken Vocational High School, and later attended Canton Business College. Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid bowler and golfer, part of the St. Anthony's Golf League, and a member of both the VFW and the Eagles. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Alice, and brother Larry DiRocco. Joe is survived by his three sons Joe A. DiRocco of Canton, Tim (Susan) DiRocco of Massillon, and James DiRocco of Canton; brothers Dick (Kay) DiRocco of Ft. Myers, FL, Jerry (Enrica) DiRocco of North Canton, Sam DiRocco of Canton, and Mike (Cheryl) DiRocco of Louisville; and sisters Anna Mae (John) Silagy of Lou isville, and Grace DiRocco (Harry McKee) of Canton. He was also survived by five grandchildren Meghan (Rich) Freeman, Joey, Jordan, Dustin and Kaitlyn DiRocco; and girlfriend Elsie Plunkett, who was there with Joe for countless hours of support. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday evening at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish at 10 a.m., with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
