Joseph P. Mucci, age 96 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born in Canton on May 15, 1922 to the late Dominic and Francesca Mucci. Joseph was a graduate of Canton Township High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Word War II; he was awarded with a Bronze Star for his service in the European Theater of Operations. He retired from the Timken Company after working for twenty years as a Grinder. Joseph was a member of Christ the Servant Parish, the Eagles #2370 and a retired life member of the American Federation of Musicians – local 111. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Anne; sisters Mayme Dobbins, Angela Lombardi, Esther Fernandez and Nancy (Joe) Shurman; brothers Anthony, John, Albert and Frank Mucci. Joseph is survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Christ the Servant Parish on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. in the church, with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the Memory Care Unit at the Canton Regency.
