Joseph A. Schiavone, age 70 of Canton, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born in Canton on November 11, 1951 to the late Biaggio and Virginia (Barnett) Schiavone. Joe was a 1969 graduate from Timken Vocational High School, and after proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 25 years of service. Joe had many hobbies including boating, fishing, traveling, going to swap meets and casinos, but above all, he loved his family.
Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his grandson Bryson Avery Cunningham and sister Mary Schiavone. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Billie; children Michael (Ashley) Schiavone of Canton, Michelle (Brian) Simpson of Canal Fulton, and Heather (Tom) Cunningham of Louisville; and nine grandchildren; brothers Rocco (Janet) Schiavone of Conyers, GA and David (Anna) Schiavone of Carrollton; as well as many other family and friends. Joe is also survived by his two neurotic felines, Moe and Squeak.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, March 14, 2022 at the Rossi Family Funeral Home from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Memorial services to begin in the funeral home at 11 a.m., with Pastor Bill Luzecky officiating. Inurnment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
