JOSEPHINE M. (ALTIERI) ANGELO, age 92, born and raised in Canton, passed away Saturday, March 30th. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Antonetta (Costelli) Altieri. She was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph, Anthony, Albert and Carmin Altieri, sisters-in-law Helen Altieri, Rose Altieri, Ann Altieri, and son-in-law Tom Arbaugh. She was a member of the Canton 50 Plus Club, Moose Lodge #332, CFU 514, 600 Club, and WIBC. An avid bowler she was inducted into the WIBC Sports Hall of Fame on April 1, 1999. A hard working woman all her life, she worked for the Red Cross during the Korean Conflict, Stark County Sheriff's Department for 38 years and later with Buckeye Protective Service, Inc. for 26 years. At the age of 90 she retired after working security for the Granger Building. She enjoyed bowling, quilting, crocheting, cake making, gambling and going to Florida. She was of Catholic faith. Survived by her daughters Mary Grace Arbaugh of Canton, Shirley (Ray) Hinchcliff of Leesville Lake, grandchildren Larry (Wanda) Emerick of Canton, Sharon (Jim) Whaley of Louisville, Ray (Emily) Hinchcliff Jr of Perry Twp, Sue (Adam) McClure of New Philadelphia, step-grandchildren Kelly (Dan) White of Perry Twp, Michelle (Mike) Ackerman of Massillon, seven great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren making a five generation family, brothers Dan (Jo) Altieri of North Canton, Prosper Altieri of Canton, sisters-in-law Mary Altieri, Clara Altieri both of North Canton, many nieces and nephews and her faithful dog Deno. She will be missed by everyone who has known her. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home and Friday from 9 to 10 am, funeral services to follow at 10 am, Rev. Fr. John Sheridan officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery.
