Obituary

Joyce A. Andaloro December 26, 1935-May 26, 2026 Joyce A. Andaloro, 90, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, formerly of Canton, passed away peacefully at 9:52 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. Her daughter Parmie and son-in-law George, who helped doctor her during her final years, were by her side. Joyce was born on December 26, 1935 in Canton, Ohio where she grew up and graduated from Timken Vocational High School. She was to attend Baldwin Wallace College on a full piano scholarship but instead married the love of her life, Richard J. Andaloro, on September 3, 1955 at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist. It was a decision she never regretted; they were married 58 years before Richard passed away on October 24, 2013. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Jennie (Barbato) Andriola and sister Janet (Robert Sr.) Porter. She is survived by her children Drs. Parmie (George) Herman of Wapakoneta, Drs. Paul (Rebecca) Andaloro of North Canton, Dr. Richard Andaloro of Toledo, Cynthia (David) Wagner of Massillon; grandchildren Dr. Elizabeth Herman, Dr. David (Christi) Herman, Alaina Wright, Sean (Stephanie) Wright, Johanna (Brandon) Pankuch, Micah Wright, Leah (Dr. David) Botschner, Ethan Andaloro, Paul and Luke Wagner; great-grandchildren Dashiel, Daxton, and Kitridge Herman; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joseph and Loretta Andaloro, and Thomas and Nancy Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family. She was known for her vibrant personality, extraordinary musical ability, and outstanding cooking. She taught piano for 30 years and was adored by her students. She valued education, and she and Richard worked hard to support their four children through years of undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Together they served as Presidents of the Parents’ Association at Mount Union College. There will be no calling hours. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Joyce's honor on June 20 at 10 AM at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, 627 McKinley Avenue, Canton. Interment will immediately follow at Cavalry Cemetery, 3469 Lincoln Way East, Massillon. Memorial contributions can be made to the Andaloro Family Fund at the University of Mount Union, 1972 Clark Avenue, Alliance, OH 44601.
