JULIA MAGDALENA (GLIBA)KOURY, age 91 of North Canton, passed away Wednesday morning after a sudden illness. Born in Canton to the late George and Wilma (Baghy) Gliba she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Mike J. Koury, sisters Edith (Ed) Gardner, Christina (Richard) Ailor, Wilma (Robert) Deitrick, brothers George (Olive) Gliba, Barney (Betty) Gliba, Frank (Connie) Gliba, brothers-in-law Michael Rukavina, Jerry Salerno, and Sam Masitto. Julia was a 1941 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and a member of Christ the Servant Parish at Our Lady of Peace Church. She worked at S.S. Kresge, Timken Roller Bearing and Sugardale Provision Company from which she retired in 1983 after 30 years of service. Julia was an avid bowler during her working life and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved her family and the Cleveland Indians but her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her children Michael (Sybilee) Koury, Patrick (Pam) Koury, John Koury all of North Canton, Judy Ann DePan of Winslow, Arizona, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grand children. In addition, Julia is survived by brothers Julius (Betty) Gliba, Anthony (Sue) Gliba all of Canton, sisters Theresa Rukavina of Canton, Betty Varga of Cleveland, and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4 to 6 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at Christ the Servant Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Interment will be in Northlawn Cemetery.
