IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julia "Julie"
M. (Garrini) Stambaugh
November 30, 1928 – January 19, 2024
Julia M. (Garrini) Stambaugh, age 95, passed peacefully into the Lord's loving embrace on Friday, January 19, 2024. "Julie" was a lifelong resident of Canton and a 1946 graduate of McKinley High School. She worked for the Timken Company for 10 years as a secretary in the Engineering Department, 4 years at Stark County Regional Planning and 28 years for the City of Canton, originally with the Planning and Zoning Department and later as administrative assistant to the Safety Director. Throughout her wonderful life, Julie donated her time and talents to Our Lady of Peace Church, having served on Parish Council and the Liturgy Committee. She was also extremely active at both Our Lady of Peace and St. Thomas Aquinas schools when her children attended there. Most recently she was a devoted member of Christ the Servant Parish and member of the Ladies Guild. Julie was an avid reader and sports fan and enjoyed bowling, bocce and testing her skill at area casinos. She had a vivacious personality and was affectionately known for her bright smile and great humor.
Most importantly, Julie was a committed and loving wife to her husband of 50 years who preceded her in death, Donald E. Stambaugh, Sr. and a great and supportive mother to their children and their spouses: Taryn (Joe) Heath Cholley, Nancy (Tim) Cochran, Donna (John) Craig, Donald (Sandra) Stambaugh, Jr. and Mary Ann (Mark) Schaffner. Julie's greatest joys were her grandchildren: Taryn, Alex and Tyler Cochran, Alec, Evan and Hannah Craig, Tristan (Kayla) Heath, Shannon (JP) Fisher and Luca Stambaugh and her great granddaughters Rhylee, Delaney, Winnie, Blakely and Hazel. Julie joins her parents John and Miracola Garrini, grandson Parker Stambaugh, sister Norma (Emil) Stefan and brothers Dominic (Amelia) Garrini and John (Ann) Garrini who preceded her in death. Julie is fondly remembered by her sister Nancy Garrini and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at Christ the Servant Parish, formerly Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Christ the Servant Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
