Julius "Jones" P. Chirumbolo, age 90 of Canton, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was born in Canton on February 14, 1927 to the late Bruno and Anna (Torcasio) Chirumbolo. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in WWII; he was employed by Diamond Portland Cement and ASF in Alliance as a machinist and supervisor. Julius was a member of Little Flower Catholic Parish, and he enjoyed racing cars, gardening and fixing everything. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son David, six brothers and eight sisters. Julius is survived by his wife of 67 years, Stella; children Julius (Gina) Chirumbolo and Bruno (Jackie Slaybaugh) Chirumbolo; and daughter-in-law Karen Chirumbolo. Also survived by grandchildren Amy, David, Bruno, Jr. (Lindsey), Natalie (Noa) and Rocco; five great-grandchildren Lorenzo, Sydney, Avery, Parry and Paige; brother Frank Chirumbolo; and sister Betty Rice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at Little Flower Catholic Parish at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
