Katherine (Manos) Zantopulos passed away Friday, July 24, 2015. Born June 14, 1937, she was a 1955 graduate of Timken Vocational High School. After graduation she worked at Union Metal and in later years, at Halle's and London Candies. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Harry; by her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Steven Pittman; and by her son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Lynn Zantopulos; her brother Joe and twin brother Lazor (Loretta) Manos; by her sisters-in-law, Ferna Cunningham, Despina Zantopulos, and Mary Manos; by her granddaughters, who held a special place in her heart, Hannah Pittman, and Marie and Alexa Zantopulos and by her many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Despina Manos, and her brothers, Gust, George, Harry, and Milt Manos. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a member of the Koraes Ladies Society and Senior Citizens. Katherine received the Ecclesiastical Woman of the Year Award in 2014 in appreciation and recognition of her outstanding faith, devotion, service, and contributions to her church. She served her church in many capacities, from singing in the choir to participating in and chairing many different projects. She was honored to have hosted in her home, the Diocesan Bishop on Holy Trinity's 75th year name day anniversary. Her favorite times were with family and friends, her card clubs and monthly breakfast group. Katherine's personality, warmth and generosity were what defined her and made her the caring and open person that so many loved. Family and friends may call at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Monday evening, July 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Trisaigion Service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Protopresbyter Daniel M. Rogich, PhD officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Katherine's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, 4705 Fairhaven Ave NW, Canton Ohio 44709.
