Obituary

LAWRENCE "PIPE" PIPERO, SR., age 78 of Canton, passed away early Sunday morning after a 6 month battle from a stroke. Born in Canton to the late Sam and Anna (DeLillo) Pipero, he was preceded in death by his "brother" Jimmy DeLillo and brother-in-law Frank Palombo. He was a member of St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish and the Holy Name Society. "Pipe" retired from Union Local 109 after 30 years as a cement finisher. He was a longtime volunteer for the Stark County Italian-American Festival. He enjoyed bowling, especially with the Mascioli Tailor Team, listening to polkas and playing his accordion. Everyone will miss his wedding soup and green bean salad. "Pipe" always wanted to go for a ride (which usually meant a ride to the casinos). His pride and joy were his grandchildren, of which he attended nearly every event they were involved in. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Palombo) Pipero, children Debbie (Elie) Graustein of Houston, TX, Marianne (Jim) Malcuit of North Canton, Laurie (Roger) Clark of Minerva, Dianne Pipero of Canton, Larry Pipero, Jr. of Perry Twp, Stephanie (Kevin) Pipero-Henderson of Canton, grandchildren Justin, Brittany, Jeremy, Gabrielle, Jordan, Dominic, Taylor, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Joe and Mary Palombo, Dominick and Barb Palombo all of Canton, Sue Palombo of Massillon, and Ruth DeLillo of Perry Twp. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 am at St. Anthony/All Saints Catholic Parish with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano, celebrant. Interment will be in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Anthony/All Saints Parish. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Canton Christian Home, especially the 2 nd floor, for all their loving care and compassion.
