IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leonard J.
Popo
March 12, 1955 – May 26, 2018
Leonard Joseph Popo, age 63 of Canton, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning. Born in Canton to the late Leo and Mary (Angiulo) Popo, Len graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. Len retired from AT&T and worked part time for Advanced Auto and Canton City Schools. He was a member of the Hall of Fame Luncheon Club, the Eagles and the Canton Ex-Newsboys Association. He is survived by his dear friend Nancy Pacconi; sister Anna Marie Popo; brother and sister in law Vince and Debbi Popo; niece Danielle Fosselman; nephews AJ and his wife Jesse Fosselman, and Michael Popo. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts Bart and Linda Angiulo, John and Lana Angiulo of Michigan, and Joseph and Gail Angiulo of California.
On a more personal note, Len was part of a wrestling team that was undefeated and City Champions in 1973 was a good golfer, bowler and softball player. He was a wrestling official in Virginia and Ohio, and was also an avid Washington Redskin fan. We were proud of the athletic achievements in his life. Len was also a prolific picture taker and most of his photographs were of mom, dad, Anna and Nancy. He was especially fond of Danielle, AJ and Michael and the photos are priceless.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Pines. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm and Friday morning from 9 to 10 am at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Tom Kraszewski. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes individuals contribute to the church or charity of their choice in Len's name.
A brother's love can best be summed up in Proverbs 17:17 which says, "A friend loveth at all times and a brother is born for adversity". Goodbye Len. We will miss you.
