Lillian "Lilly" A. (Lignos) Valantasis, age 74, of Massillon, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, October 30. Born in Buffalo, NY to the late John and Anna (Karamblakas) Lignos of Oinoussai, Chios, Greece. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Valantasis, daughter Irene A. Valantasis, sisters, Constantina Ballistrea, and Irene Skinitis, and brother, Dimetrious Lignos. Lillian was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Massillon and had a strong Christian faith. She is survived by her sons, Louis M. Valantasis of New York City, John M. Valantasis of Massillon and granddaughter Anitsa Rose Valantasis of Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services were held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Ronald McDonald House, an organization that was of great support during the most trying time in Lillian's life.
