(Teets) Paone
March 1, 1936 – March 18, 2017
Loretta J. Paone, age 81, passed away on March 18, 2017 with her loving and devoted family at her side. Loretta was born March 1, 1936 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to the late Parley Sr. and Leona (Donges) Teets. She was a 1954 graduate of Lorain Senior High School in Lorain, Ohio. Upon graduation, she attended Ohio University for three years and graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Education. She was an employee of Canton City Schools for 34 years as a teacher and administrator. Loretta retired in 1997 as the first female Director of Vocational Education. She was a charter member of the Ohio Association of Home Economics Supervisors Association, Ohio Vocational Directors Association, Ohio Education Association, Stark State College Tech Prep Steering Committee, and a member of the CCS Administrators Association. She also volunteered for March of Dimes, American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Parley Teets, Jr. Loretta is survived by her husband of 60 years Richard, sons Ronald M. (Tammy), Richard A. (Claudia) and Russell T. (Karen); nine grandchildren; Amelia (Michael) Edmunds, Olivia (Kyle) Barnes, Anthony Paone, Jason (Christina) Paone, Amanda Haupt, Sarah (John) Norton of Virginia, Brittany and Brooke Paone, Stephen (Lisa) Sexton, and with 10 great-grandchildren. Loretta was also survived by brothers Robert W. (Susan) of Houston, Texas, Gerald T. Teets of Bedford, Virginia and sister-in-law Angeline Teets of Lorain, Ohio; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 10 a.m., with Rev. Fr. G. David Weikart as celebrant. Inurnment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice and/or Morning Star Cancer Center. The family would especially would like to thank Dr. James Schmotzer, his staff, Aultman Hospice staff and her granddaughter Amanda Haupt.
