IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lori J.
Kiminas
June 12, 1963 – August 20, 2022
In memoriam-Lori J. Kiminas, age 59, passed away on Saturday, August 20. She was a bright shining ray of light and loved by all who knew her.
A 40 Day Memorial Service will be held at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, October 2, during the 10:00 am Divine Liturgy, followed by a Trisagion at Forest Hill Cemetery.
In her youth, Lori spent many happy times camping with cousins, taking vacations with family, and playing basketball and pool any chance she could. She was an amazing swimmer and used those skills to participate in the Special Olympics for several years, along with competing in bowling events. She loved to sing and play the piano. In the 80's, she was a hard core fan of Wrestle Mania and The Power Team, and always cheered for Hulk Hogan in the ring. She was a whiz at hook rugs, word finds, and Nintendo. She always had the latest fashions and tech gizmos, including her prized Apple IIE (which she taught her younger cousins to use.) She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and never missed a chance to belt out a tune by "The King."
Lori will be fondly remembered by the community of her church, St. Haralambos in Canton. Her smile, laugh and hugs brought joy to so many. She loved hanging out with the GOYA teens, Greek dancing at the Summerfest, and helping at Church social functions. At weddings of family and friends, the Debutante Ball, and other formal events, she was always the first one on the dance floor. Lori made "dance til you drop" her motto!
As an adult she took pride in working at MRDD Workshops in the NE Ohio area. She was always eager to talk about her job and ask people about theirs. She was the definition of a social butterfly.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Cotopolis) Kiminas, brother Johnny Kiminas, and her beloved Cotopolis uncles and aunts, Christ (Mary), Harry (Helen), Pete (Vicki), Nick (Sophia) and Bill. She is survived by her aunt Sharlene Cotopolis and many cousins. May her beloved memory be eternal!
