Louis "Louie" Garcia

1926 – 2017

Louis Garcia, age 90, of North Canton, passed away Monday afternoon after suffering a stroke. He was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in Moundsville, West Virginia and moved to Canton after serving in WW II. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor until the end of the war. He retired from Babcock and Wilcox and was a avid political campaign memorabilia collector, and a member of the APIC. He loved world history and was a non-stop reader. Lou was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Loretta (Milano) Garcia, his parents Venancio and Sofia Garcia, his brothers Benny, and Manuel, his sisters Lola Fernandez, and America Walter. He is survived by his sister Marina Stevenson, his children Michael (Diane) Garcia, Christine (Dave) Bible, Raymond (Stephanie Mowery) Garcia, Luann (Rick) Worstell. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Karie (Michael) Cowles, Joseph Bible, Alexandria, Reid and Regan Worstell, Louis, Lynsey and Lauren Garcia plus eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours or services. Respecting Louis' wishes, he will be cremated.
