Lucia G. Mariani age 95 of Canton, passed away early Monday at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sulmona, Italy to the late Panfilo and Maria LaMorticella, she was also preceded in death by her husband Gaspere Perri, and three brothers in Italy. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Lucia loved her family, her garden and cooking. She is survived by her son Frank Mariani, grandsons Anthony (Stacey) Mariani, Dante (Brie) Mariani, Enrico (Angela) Mariani, seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, sister Rosa Monaco and many nieces and nephews in the United States, Canada and Abruzzo, Italy. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 to 11 am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 am, Rev. Fr. G. David Weikart celebrant. Entombment will be in Northlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. To show our love and appreciation to the many hospice nurses who cared for Lucia during her final days. The family requests memorial donations in Lucia's name be made to Community Hospice (716 Commercial Ave. S.W., New Philadelphia, OH 44663), in lieu of flowers.
