Lula Rafailedes 96, took the highway to Heaven on August 1, 2021. Born January 24, 1925 in Akron to the late Constantine and Panagiota Pachares. Preceded in death by her husband, George she is survived by her children, George Jr. (North Canton), Connie (Burleson, Texas), her sisters, Helen Goumas (Akron), Sylvia Eliopoulos (Naples, Florida), brothers, Tony Pachares (Fort Worth, Texas), James Pachares (Palos Verdes, Calif.), and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Lula and her late husband were members of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Canton for over 65 years. There she was a member of the Daughters of Penelope, past president of the Koraes Ladies Society, member of the Senior Citizens group and choir member for over 50 years in which she was honored by the Parish Choir for her service. Lula's life priorities were her faith, love of family, church, friends, and neighbors. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Lula had a generous spirit and was loved by all who knew her. It is with great sadness that she has passed but, will now be with her "pal" of 70 plus years enjoying what God has promised to us all, eternal life. A special thank you to Dr. Baum, Bethany Nursing Home, and their dedicated staff. We appreciate all the kindness and respect that was shown to our mother from Assisted Living to Skilled Care including and thru Hospice. She felt welcomed there and made many friends, especially her bingo partner Mary Nash whom she enjoyed spending time with. Visitation will be at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on 4705 Fairhaven from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. August 6th. The funeral will begin at 11:30 a.m. the same day.
