It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Manira Asper age 93 on July 17 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center after a short illness. Born in Btar, Syria to the late Shaheen and Sadie (Mahfood) Georges, she was preceded in death by her husband Shehab Asper as well as eight brothers and sisters. Manira was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Ladies Club of St. George and the parsley committee of the Middle Eastern Dinner. She is survived by her children Mike (Mary) Asper, Milia Durkin, Julia (Raymond) Guardado, Lydia (Randy) Swackhammer, seven grandchildren; Vince (Kristen) Guardado, Edward Asper, Amy Durkin, Anthony Guardado, Ann Durkin, Kimberly and Abigail Hogg, three great-grandchildren; Vincent and Nicholas Guardado and Michael Asper. Also one sister survives. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home with Trisagion service to be held at 7:30 pm. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church with The Very Rev. Fr. Michael Corbin officiating assisted by The Rev. Basil Shaheen. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
