IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maria (Amanatides)
Ifantides
March 19, 1942 – August 19, 2018
Maria (Maro) Ifantiedes
Maria Ifantiedes, age 76, born in Katerini, Greece, passed away peacefully in her home on 8/19/18. Hours preceding her death, she was at her favorite Holy Trinity Annual Greek Orthodox Festival enjoying being surrounded by her family and friends. She was seen all evening with a smile on her face and clapping as she watched her grandson, Lucas, dance to her favorite music. She was preceded in death by her parents, Phillipas and Sophia Amanatides, sister Nikki of Greece, and niece Nitsa, of Germany. She was married to the late Theodore Ifantiedes and together they raised a wonderful family of whom she was extremely proud. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Despina (Igor M.D.) Kaps, and Georgia (Scott) Mullaney, and sisters Katina, Melpo, Despina, and Hariklia. Brother-in-law John (Arlene) Infantiedes; grandchildren Cristopher M.D. (Zoe) Kaps, Mariana Kaps, and her most recent grandson, Lucas Mullaney, who was the light of her life over the past 3 years. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other family members whom she cherished. Maria was the kindest, most generous person to all she came in contact with. To know her was to love her. Everything blossomed under Maria's care – plants and people. She was a favorite nanny, loyal friend, and wonderful cook whose Greek cuisine brought everyone together. Calling hours on Friday, August 24th from 10-11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Canton, Ohio. The service will immediately follow with Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating. Following burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, family will receive guests at Holy Trinity Cultural Hall over lunch. Memorial donations may be made in Maria's memory to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
