Marie J. (DiGiacomo) Garcia, age 76 of Canton, passed away Tuesday morning. Born in Canton to the late Frank and Mary (Greku) DiGiacomo, she was preceded in death by her son Steven in 1982. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School, Marie was a member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, St. John's Guild, Spanish-American Women's Club and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. John's. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Frank Garcia, son and daughter-in-law Frank and Val Garcia of Massillon, grandchildren Steven and Solana Garcia, brother Frank DiGiacomo of Massillon, sister and brother-in-law Dolly and Tim Potter, sister-in-law Linda Karman all of Canton. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home where St. John's Guild will hold a prayer service at 5:45 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am in the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with The Very Reverend Ronald M. Klingler, Rector. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Basilica of St. John the Baptist or the Spanish-American Center Scholarship Fund.
