Mario Juan Varela Sánchez passed away on November 20, 2025 in Canton, Ohio.

Mario leaves behind his loving partner of 23 years Ron Hess, family Hilda Alvarez, Laura Varela, Christina Barber and husband Colin, Monica Berkman and husband Don,  Andrew Varela and wife Susan, grandchildren Oscar, Javi and Zachary, the Berkman family, Beverly and Frank Guzzo, sister Miriam Varela, nephew Luis Bustillo and family,   and friends, family and coworkers from around the world.

Mario will be sorely missed but he is now at peace.

Our family wishes to thank the  staff at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital for their excellent care and compassion during Mario's final days, especially on the hospice floor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude's or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
