Marlene J. (Saunier) Greer age 82 of Canton, passed away Tuesday evening. Born in Louisville, OH to the late Edward and Julia (Couts) Saunier, she was preceded in death by her husband of 16 years Ronald G. Young. Marlene graduated from Louisville High School in 1952. Her first job was working for Heggy's Candy which she loved. She also was employed with the Timken company as an executive secretary and worked in keypunch. She then moved to Columbus, OH and worked for an insurance company while her husband was a student at The Ohio State University. They later moved back to Canton and started Ronald Young Construction. Marlene and her husband lived on a hobby farm where she loved to garden, cook, bake and sew. She loved all dogs and cared for many farm animals. Marlene is survived by her daughters Cathy Young and her daughter Dr. Erika (Andreas) Galliker, Bonny (Robert) Vadas and their sons C. Luke and Simon I. Vadas, Wendy Young and her daughters Regina Young and Alysha Poppenhouse, Blair Mercier and her daughter Julia Mercier. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm in the McClain Mausoleum at Forest Hill Cemetery with Pastor Aric Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Association or the Stark County Humane Society.
