IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Louise
(Cavalier) Fernandez
August 10, 1926 – March 11, 2022
Mary Louise (Cavalier) Fernandez age 95 of North Canton, passed away Friday evening at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Middlebranch to the late Marco and Prospera (Guarnieri) Cavalier, she was also preceded in death by her husband Cesar (Splatz) Fernandez, brothers John and Joe Cavalier. She was a graduate of Middlebranch High School and a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish, formerly Our Lady of Peace. Louise retired in 1993 from the Plain Local School system after 12 years of service at Glenoak East High School. Louise worked in the cafeteria and sometimes she even made her famous spaghetti sauce and meatballs for the students. Later she would become the "milkshake lady". She loved that job because her station was located in the midst of student seating, and she got to know them better. Many would recognize her later in life, out and about after they graduated. She loved that. She was an excellent baker, and enjoyed cooking for those she loved. Her true love were her children and grandchildren. Louise raised her two young children with devotion and dedication, after the death of the love of her life, Cesar. She was surrounded and supported by her brothers and sisters in law, Joe & Mimi Cavalier and John & Ruth Cavalier. As well as many close friends, Arne & Liz Alessandrini, Joe & Angie Spitale, Cesar & Susan Suarez to name a few. Louise, known as Lella to her grandchildren, continued her devotion and dedication as a grandmother. She loved attending baseball games, even away games, and sitting with the other proud grandparents. She attended school events, piano recitals, basketball games, musicals, and anything else her grandchildren would be involved in. Lella was daily chauffeuring her grandchildren all over North Canton, and frequenting Wendy's drive-thru. She always put others first and showed her love with her actions. She will be dearly missed and always remembered. Louise is survived by her children Beth (Jeff) Metzger, and Jim Fernandez, three grandchildren Sterling, AnaLeigh, and Cayla Metzger. Nieces and nephews Jennice (Gary) Welker, Joe (Tina) Cavalier, Dennis (Chris) Cavalier, and Cheryl Allaire. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 am to 11 am at Rossi Family Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at Christ the Servant Catholic Parish at 11:30 am, Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano celebrant. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Louise's name may be made to Christ the Servant Catholic Parish or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
