IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary A.
Demario
July 28, 1924 – March 30, 2017
Mary DeMario passed away on March 30, 2017 in Canton at the age of 92. First-born to Angeline (Tortola) and Carlo Schiavone on July 28, 1924, in Canton, Mary graduated from McKinley High School in 1942. She wed Joseph DeMario in 1946. After a few years on the line at Wilson Rubber, Mary dedicated herself to being a wife, mother, homemaker and grandmother—roles she cherished and roles in which she thrived. She was proudly Italian. Throughout her rich life, with a rosary in hand (or in her pocket), Mary could be found spending time with family, making weekly batches of pizzelles in her kitchen, or tending to her duties as a Holy Duster at Christ the Servant Parish (formerly Our Lady of Peace). She forever will be missed by everyone who knew her. Mary was preceded in death by husband Joseph DeMario; son Michael DeMario; brothers Louis and Anthony "Butch" Schiavone; sisters-in-law Christine Schiavone and Antoinette Slagy; and brothers-in-law William, Philip, Vincent, and Frank DeMario. Mary is survived by daughter Patricia DeMario (Joseph Rodriguez), son Philip DeMario (Diane Drake); daughter-in-law Carol DeMario (Craig van Horsten); grandchildren Gina DeMario, Michelle Maguire (Aaron Beck), Christopher DeMario (Caroline), Jennifer DeMario (Brad McCulloch), and Michael DeMario; brothers James Schiavone (Josephine Mercorelli) and Carl Schiavone (Joan Brahler); sisters Dolly DeMario and Carol Edwards (Thomas "Sid" Edwards); sisters-in-law Josephine Maccora Schiavone and Sally Koch DeMario; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, April 3 rd at Christ the Servant Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Lutheran Home of North Canton for their kindness, care, and support throughout the past three years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sancta Clara Monastery or Christ the Servant Parish.
