IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary J.
(Dimickele) Alexander
March 10, 1954 – October 25, 2024
Mary Jean Alexander (Nee: DiMickele / Coakley) age 70. Beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Born March 10, 1954, Mary took the hand of Jesus to leave this life on October 25, 2024
Mary was a woman of incredible faith and served the Lord her entire life. Through her kindness, compassion and love she cared for many mentally challenged ladies at her assisted living facility, Senior Living as owner and operator. She devoted herself to helping others and giving them a warm, safe and caring environment. She was an inspiration to all who were blessed to know her. She was an outstanding cook, especially with her homemade spaghetti sauce and lasagna. Mary and her husband canned their own tomatoes every year which were used for soups and sauces.
Mary was a strong woman throughout her life. She was in the DiMickele family of 9 children. She was an identical twin. In her life she was employed by Country Lane Foods prior to starting her own business named Senior Living. Her business housed and cared for 9 mentally challenged ladies. The business provided 3 meals a day, a clean-living environment, assistance with doctors and medications and a comfortable, safe home. If you can imagine walking into your grandma's home as a child that is what it was like.
Mary's greatest joy was her family. Although her father passed away in his 50's, her mother Helen watched over the family. Mary is preceded in passing by her father, Henry (YoYo) DiMickele, her son Michael Shawn Coakley and her two younger twin brothers who she loved dearly, Sam and Dan DiMickele. Also her aunt Mary (Meme) Strom .
Mary is survived by her mother Helen DiMickele at 98 years old. Her twin sister, confidant and friend Sue Dimmerling (Fred), oldest brother Henry (Butchie) DiMickele ( Deborah), Youngest sister Lorraine Goulden (Bill), Brothers Rich and Gary DiMickele and youngest brother Dean (Dino) Dimickele (KC) and his family of Arizona.
Mary was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed by both of her daughters. Mary was always there offering support, guidance and unconditional love. She taught her daughters how to be strong in their faith and wanted them to always stay close to family. Her guiding light will always be with them. Aleana Coakley and Lisa Grow (Patrick) and their children granddaughter Kiara and twin boys Gavin and Jacob Grow. Mary was very proud and loved her grandchildren.
She will be missed most of all by her husband John Bruce Alexander of 20 years. She was a hero to me for taking on the challenge of owning a group home for people who may not have had anywhere else to go. Mary had a quiet kindness about herself. She had patience and often told me to slow down. She was a great cook who liked her surroundings clean. As her husband we shared trips across the United States, Germany and to Italy.
I have never loved nor ever will again have what Mary, and I had together. We had 1 Corinthians 13 hanging in the bathroom so we could read it every morning. She was strong, smart, compassionate, loving, and carrying. With her beautiful face and kind heart I was so lucky to have her. I am so thankful that she cared enough to marry me. She will be missed by all who have known her.
Romans 8:18: "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us".
Mary had great faith in her Catholic religion, Jesus, God and the Holy Bible. She did not wish for flowers or calling hours. If you wish you may donate to Christ the Servant or Sancta Clara Monastery. She asked for a Mass of Christian burial at Christ the Servant Catholic church on Tuesday, 11:00 am, and a small grave side gathering at North Lawn Cemetery.
