Betty A. Fonte, age 91 of Canton, passed away Friday at Altercare of Alliance. Betty was born in Portage, PA on September 19,1925, to the late Anthony and Carmella Gallo. She was a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Church and a former member of the Sons of Italy. Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 2008, and brother Alfred Lizzio. She is survived by three sons Raymond G. (Kaye) Fonte of Louisville, Robert A. Fonte of Canton, and Dennis J. (Janice) Fonte of Trappe, PA; three brothers John Lizzio of Glenwood, NY, Joseph (Joan) Lizzio of Hawley, PA, and James (Ann) Lizzio of LaQuinta, CA; 5 grandchildren Matthew R. G. Fonte, Andrew Joel G. Fonte, Jessica M. McClure, Melissa Y. Mitchell, Robert A. Fonte, Jr. and 13 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Family Funeral Home (730 30 ^th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709). A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at Christ the Servant Parish (1001 39 ^th St. NW, Canton, OH 44709), with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano as celebrant.
