IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Jane
(Kulich) Cappello
December 13, 1929 – December 11, 2018
Mary Jane (Kulich) Cappello died peacefully on Tuesday morning, December 11th at home, two days before her 89th birthday, completing a life filled with a love of family, a sense of fun, a disarming sense of humor, and a laugh that made everyone around her smile. The third child of Nicholas and Mary Kulich, she had four sisters, Helen Kulich, Anne (Victor) Lenartowicz, Dorothy (Nick) Venuto, Patty (Chuck) Marcelli, and one brother, Bill (Margie) Kulich. Victor, Helen, Nick, and Bill preceded her in death as did her brother-in-law, Joe Cappello, and sister-in-law, Madelene Cappello. Always there for her first family, Mary Jane married Bob Cappello in 1952, 66 years ago; they raised four children together, Colleen (Dan) Toussant, Bob (Cheryl) Cappello, Lori (Frank) Alessandro, and Kathy (David) Yant. For nearly 40 years, she embraced and enjoyed her 11 grandchildren, Molly (Josh) Toussant McLaughlin, Emily Toussant, Ashley (Geoff) Bigler, Amanda (Chris) Emerson, Cydney (Ben) Luong, Kaylee (Brennan) Castillo, Gina Nasinnyk, Frank (Karey) Alessandro, Sarah Alessandro, Kyle Yant, and Corey Yant. Their lives she unwittingly touched with her consistent grandmotherly love and joy; also, later,12 great-grandchildren (children, always her delight.) A self-employed beautician, a skillful garage saler ('would you take less?'), and the best mother-in-law ever, she touched everyone who knew her. Five years ago, she suffered a serious stroke, and the last five years, a long journey home, where she again touched her family and her caregivers with her patience, perseverance, and many times, her smile, and her humor. Special thanks to Kathy and Sister Jennifer, whose care-giving was extraordinary, and allowed Mary Jane to complete her journey at home. Also thanks to the kind care-giving of Grace Hospice. A new angel in heaven, she will be deeply missed. Friends and family, please join us in celebrating her life, Saturday, December 15th at Christ the Servant Parish, calling hours from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the church, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM celebrated by Monsignor Lew Gaetano and con-celebrated by Fr. Leo Wehrlin. Entombment will be at North Lawn Cemetery.
