Mary J. (Morello) Dunnerstick, age 95, passed away Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center. Mary was born on February 25, 1926 to the late Anthony and Pasquelina (Prunesti) Morello. A lifelong Canton resident, Mary graduated from McKinley High School in 1943. She went on to work at Mercy Medical Center for many years, where she was employed in food service. Mary loved her family, especially her boys who were her pride and joy. True to her Italian roots, she loved making her signature spaghetti sauce. She enjoyed providing for others and thus almost always made it for a member of the family, rarely for herself. Of Mary's recreational activities watching football on TV took the lead, seldom did she miss a game. Her grandchildren would describe her as a kind, empathetic woman who listened without judgment. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sons, Stan, Gary, and infant baby Ricky; two brothers, Frank and Philip Morello. Mary is survived by her grandchildren, Stacy (Michael), Ryan (Samantha), James (Lauren), Matt (Katie), and Sean (Sharon) Dunnerstick; seven great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Bonnie Dunnerstick and Lauren Taylor; and a sister-in-law, Mary Morello. The family would like to thank the staff at Green Meadows Nursing Home who cared for her in her final years. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony/All Saints Parish, with Rev. Fr. Tom Kraszewski as celebrant. Inurnment will be in Union Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony/All Saints Parish, in Mary's memory.
