MARY THERESA (MYER) WHITMER, age 87 of North Canton, passed away Monday evening after a sudden illness. Born in Canton to the late Walter and Irene (Easley) Myer she was preceded in death by son Micheal E. Whitmer in 2009 and brother Don Myer. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School, she was a sports enthusiast and loved to play the piano. She worked as a secretary for Ernest and Ernest Accounting Firm and then the Hoover Company, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Parish in North Canton. Survived by her daughters and son-in-law Robyn and Jerry Wysocki of Syracuse, NY, Vicki Whitmer of Dallas, TX, Jilly Whitmer of Scottsdale, AZ, sisters Dorothy DeVille, Jane Wernet and Rosemary DePasquale all of Canton. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Friday at 1 pm at St. Paul Catholic Parish in North Canton with Rev. Fr. Stephen Zeigler, celebrant. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
