Maxine 'Grandma Mac' Lukens, age 96 of Plain Township, passed away June 25th. Born in Dennison, OH in Tuscarawas County to the late Wilbur and Edna Casteel and preceded by her husband of 48 years, the late James B. Lukens, Sr., sisters, Bernice (Charles) Ferrell, Lela (Jim) Palmer, Wilma (Bob) Milligan, and a brother Carl (Helen) Casteel.

Also known as the 'Cookie Lady' by the many who enjoyed her delicious cookies almost as much as she enjoyed baking for all of them. She loved the beach, traveling with family, and caring for her flowers. A member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and retired from Roni's Hair Forum.

Maxine is survived by daughters Sheron Reed of Uhrichsville, Ja-Bea (Jeff) Inman of Canton, Pamela Baxter of Fort Mill, SC; son Ben (Roni) Lukens of North Canton; and grandchildren Scott Reed of Richmond, VA, Doug (Beth) Inman of Uniontown, Melissa (Tim) Smith of Danbury, CT, Jonathan (Amanda) Baxter of Gastonia, NC, Ryan (Valorie) Baxter of Denver, CO, Ernie (Justin) Lukens of Peekskill, NY, Alicia (Jason) Wielinski of Brownsburg, IN, Eric (Olivia) Lukens of North Canton and Ashley (Kyle) Metheney of North Canton; and great-grandchildren Jake and Carter Inman, Kailey, Nathan, and Maddox Smith, Clara Mae and Wilson Baxter, Ava and Alexander Wielinski, Gavin Sampsel and Leo Lukens, and Maria, Rocco, Ella, and Nicolette Metheney.

Loved by several nieces and nephews, Grandma Mac was also loved by many others, including our extended families, neighbors, friends, and all who knew her. They all hold a special place in her heart, and she will always hold a special place in all of our hearts.
