Melanie (Sapharas) Haritonides age 97 of Willoughby, formerly of Canton, passed away early Sunday. Born in Canton to the late Kiriakos and Parthena (Tatarides) Haritonides, she was preceded in death by her sons James and Nick Sapharas, sisters Katie Psomiades, and Mary Haritonides. Melanie was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a 1942 graduate of Canton McKinley High School. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Sapharas, granddaughters Lauren (Chris) Magnacca, Nicole (Jeremy) Watkins, godson Mark Macrides and goddaughter Pam Brown, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 11:00 am to 12 noon at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with services to follow at 12 noon, Rev. Fr. Nicholas Halkias officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Melanie's name may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
