MICHAEL DEAN NICHOLS
1951 – 2025
Michael was a loving, creative and artistic man, and I feel very blessed to have shared my life with him. He passed away peacefully after an extended illness.
He was born in Canton to the late Robert and Louise (Erickson) Nichols, he was also preceded in death by his brother Mark Nichols. Michael was a 1969 graduate of Lehman High School, who then enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1970. He spent 13 weeks of boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina. He then served at Marine Corps Air Station in Buford, South Carolina till his discharge in 1974. Michael earned the rank of Corporal and then Sergeant.
After his discharge he worked in high end men's clothing stores in sales and marketing. From there, Michael went on to design shoes for numerous companies. He also designed and patented a pill dispenser.
Michael is survived by his wife Francine (Foradas) Nichols, son Griff (Caitlin) Nichols and their children Gavin, Ellie, and Morgan, daughters Betsy Nichols, and Emily Nichols, step-children Steven Peter Poulos, Elenie (Vasili) Grasos and their children Mario, Stefanos, Patrikia, Thanassi, Nektarios, and Pavlo Grassos, Dr. Despina Melissa Poulos and her daughter Zoe Charles, cousins Steve Korba, Jill Little, Hal (Linda) Ewing, Dawn Schmitz, Tom Shea, and Rick Oberlin.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, July 21, 2025 at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church from 10 to 11 am. Funeral services to begin at 11 am, with Rev. Dr. Nicholas V. Gamvas officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Roselane and Wellspring Hospice for all their loving care.
