Obituary

Michael A. Rossi II, age 32 of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on February 8, 2022. Born in Massillon, Ohio on March 6, 1989 to Michael and Lori (Rice) Rossi. Michael was a 2007 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School; he later worked several years as a Cable Tech, and most recently as a Delivery/Installer at Home Appliance.

Michael was an avid sports enthusiast playing Jackson Little League baseball, basketball, football, and track at St. Joan of Arc. He won the Archie Griffin award at St. Joan of Arc for Best Male Athlete. He also played high school football for the Central Crusaders, lettering two years. Michael loved the Cleveland Browns, especially going to the games with his dad where they would sit in the Dog Pound. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and going to the Charlotte races in the spring with family, then again in the fall with "the guys."

More than anything, Michael loved his family, his dog "Merlot," and his Italian heritage. He played in the Italian Festival Bocce tournament yearly with his Dad, Uncle Sam, and Frank winning "Runner Up." He was a very dear, special young man to anyone who knew him. He knew how blessed he was to have a loving family and dear friends. His true heroes in his life were his Dad and Uncle Sam, but his heart belonged to his Mom.

Along with his parents, Michael is survived by his aunts and uncles Sam (Jen) Rossi, Vicki (Bob) Swagert, Beth (Mike) Rice, Kelly (Harold) Walters, and Carla (Tony) Moore; and cousins Sydney (Collin) Covert, Alexis Rossi, Jake and Drew Pope, Bobby Swagert, Matt (Carli) Walters.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: Sam Rossi Sr., who passed away when Michael was five months old but was proud to be his "Pa," Betty Rossi "G-unit" with whom he had the most special bond with, Red Rice "Papa" who was so proud of his athletic ability, and Barb Rice "Mema."

Michael would want anyone reading this, and his family and dear friends, to say "The Lord's Prayer" and to treat one another with kindness. Private family services will be held.
