Michael D. Tortola (89) was lifted into Heaven, February 2, 2022 surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, Raphael (Ralph) Tortola and Raphaela (Rachel) Giachetta, as well as numerous aunts and uncles (Primavera).

Mike is survived by his wife of 67 years Judith (Senter) Tortola, his six children, Pamela (John) Mahon, Mike Tortola, Greg (Jane) Tortola, Elizabeth (Bill) Galloway, Sharon Tortola-Garofolo, Joe (Stephanie) Tortola; his nine grandchildren: Dillon Garofolo, Evan (Jessica) Tortola, Austin Garofolo, Wm. Jordan Galloway, Catherine Tortola, Isabelle Garofolo, Sydney Tortola, Nik Tortola and Luke Tortola; one great granddaughter Sophia Alexandra Tortola; and his brother Donald (Charles) Tortola.

Mike was a retired Veteran from the Korean conflict. Mike worked for many years as a cement contractor and builder. He was an avid gardener and took a lot of pride in cultivating his own plants in his greenhouse. Planting hundreds of tomatoes every year, he would generously share with his family, friends and neighbors.

Family and friends will be received at Christ the Servant Parish (833 39th St. N.W. Canton, OH 44709) on Tuesday, February 8th from 9:15 to 10 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will begin in the church at 10 a.m. A private family interment to be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in Mike's name, to the Canton Garden Center (c/o Linda Lawrence, Treasurer: 5230 Dungannon Circle North Canton, OH 44720) or to The Veterans of Foreign Wars.
