April 2, 1939 – June 19, 2022
Michalena (Mickey) Kalaitsides, passed away on Sunday, June 19, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Jennie Nonno Behun and loving step-father Stephen Behun.
Mickey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Spyro Kalaitsides, brother and sisters-in-law Paris (Voula) Kalaitsides, Anna (Yianni) Karvounides and Anthoula (Gus) Isaklides, and dearest friends Jackie and Lawrence Pipero.
She is survived by her children Annamarie (Nick) Spondyl, Jennifer Kalaitsides, and Jordon (Adrienne) Kalaitsides, Grandchildren Antonio (Jen) Hall, Yianni (Lena) Spondyl, Maria (Casey) Frame, Spyro Spondyl, and Spyke Kalaitsides, Great grandchildren Nikolas, Noah, and Zander Hall, Sofia and Niko Spondyl, Annamarie and Dennis Frame, along with many nieces and nephews that were dear to her heart and special God daughter Mary H. Papadopoulos.
Mickey was a devout Orthodox Christian and a prominent member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She was an active member of Koraes Lady Society and the Pontian Society "Komninoi" of Canton. Mickey was a kind and nurturing soul with a great sense of humor that knew no strangers. She lived to serve and her family was the most important part of her life. There is nothing she wouldn't sacrifice or do to help others.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Calling hours are 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM with Funeral Services to follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fr. Nicholas Halkias officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made out to Holy Trinity Koraes Lady Society.
