Mildred Trbovich "Boots" Frey, born May 8, 1926. Boots passed away peacefully February 7th, surrounded by her loving family. Survived by her children William Scott Frey, Susan (Pete) Grubnich of Crown Point IN, Janet (Gregory) Shaheen and Janice Frey of Canton. Survived by sister in laws, Pauline Frey Whitacre and Hanna Lorre Frey. Grandchildren, Clare Grubnich of Chicago IL, Nicholas Grubnich of Sarasota FL and Sadie and Carly Shaheen of Canton. Many nieces, nephews, kumovi and friends. Born and raised on the farm in Waynesburg Ohio, graduate of Waynesburg HS in 1944. Boots began her career in the real estate business in 1964, and established the Frey Agency in 1976 as broker sole proprietor. In 2006, was awarded the Realtor Emeritus for over 40 years of continuous membership. Boots was a long time member of the American Contract Bridge League, McKinley Unit 213 and achieved silver life master status. A lifetime member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church serving on the board and dedicated choir member. Preceded in death by her husband John W. "Bill" Frey in 2000, and parents Rade and Mildred Trbovich, brothers Ted, George, Mike, Pete, Bill, Rudy and Dan and Milo Vujnovich (Winovich), and sisters Ann Bitzel and Dorothy Lagodich. A special thank you to residents, families and the entire staff at Bethany Nursing Home for your outstanding care of Boots during her stay. Calling hours will be held at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with the pomen at 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Basil Shaheen officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church (4667 Applegrove St. N.W. North Canton, Ohio 44720).
