IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nick
Koinoglou
January 25, 1928 – June 21, 2021
Nick Koinoglou
Age 93 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 21, 2021 which happened to be Tou Agiou Pnevmatos in English we refer to it as The Holy Spirit and the day after Father's Day. Born in Anavritos (Vourlan) Kilkis, Greece to his late parents Nikos and Erini (Eliades) Koinoglou in 1928. Even though he was from the old country, he loved his Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. He was an outdoorsman. His passion was hunting and fishing. As he immigrated to the US in the 1950's, his first employer was Sugardale Foods. He then retired from Ford Motor Company. He enjoyed his snowbird months in Florida for many years with his Canadian and New York friends playing "Biriba" or "KoumKan" everyday. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and AHEPA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his lovely wife Xristodoula, granddaughter Isabella Koinoglou, sister Despina Papadopoulos brothers Zaharias and Thanasi Pertsinides, and his dear Godson Pete Karasarides. He is survived by his 4 children and their spouses. Despina Peggy (George) Vellios, Erini (Kiriakos) Paliyannis, Konstantina (Peter) Guira and Nick (Maria) Koinoglou. Grandchildren, Yianni, Niko, Stratos, Christina, Maximos, Alexia, Kristina, Alessandra, Angelina and his brothers Yianni and Theodoros Pertsinides from New York. At this time, we would like to thank Dr. Louis Shaheen, along with his nurse assistant Tamara, Crossroads – especially Andrea and Heather, and to Athina from Cape Cod who made his last trip down this year to Tarpon Springs, Florida a memorable one. God Bless you all. Friends will be received on Thursday (today) from 10am-11am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Funeral services will follow with Father Nick Halkias officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4705 Fairhaven Avenue NW, Canton, Ohio 44709.
