Nick Novelli age 96 of Canton, passed away Wednesday afternoon. Born in Greci, Italy to the late Leonardo and Clementina (Meola) Novelli, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Kathleen A. (Barthel) Novelli, brother Angelo Novelli and sister Louise Novelli. Nick was a graduate of McKinley High School and a WWII Veteran, serving with the Army Air Force. He retired in 1984 from Monarch Rubber, after 25 years of service. Nick was an avid golfer and member of the Senior Group at Skyland Pines. Family was most important to him and he always attended any event his grandchildren were involved with. Nick is survived by his children Mary Ann (Jeffrey) Bartels, Dave (Lory) Novelli, Leonard Novelli; grandchildren Ryan Bartels, Katie Bartels (Rob Else), Christopher Novelli, Juilanne Novelli (Tyler Long); nephews Mike Novelli, Dave Bratton, Pat Barthel and Tina Olmstead, also lifelong friends Matt Wiederman and Joe Meola. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Anthony/ All Saints Catholic Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Tom Kraszewski as celebrant. Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Nick's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
