Nour (Noreen) Abou-Zakhim passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024 at the age of 83. She was surrounded by her beloved husband Rafik Abou-Zakhim of 56 blessed years. Along with her son, daughters, son in laws, and grandchildren. Nour was born on May 24,1941. She was born in Arnah, Syria. She then moved to Canton, Ohio with her parents, Massad and Affifi Karoue. She loved Canton she would say in Arabic "Canton is IM I DINIAH". Meaning the mother of the World. She was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and then went on to become a beautician at the Gerber Beauty School. Worked as a beautician at the Lemontree and O'Neils. She was always so fond of that.

She married the love of her life Rafik Abou-Zakhim who treated her like a queen every day. They were married at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. She and Rafik were inseparable ever since. The love of her church and church friends and family grew from there. She revolved her life around the church. She was the President of the Ladies Club, a member of the Crusaders, a member of the church choir, and a member of Alph Tau Epsilon. She is preceded in death by her father Massad and mother Affifi Karoue, and brother Louie Karoue. She is survived by her loving husband Rafik Abou-Zakhim, devoted son David, grand children Elias, and Mariam. Loving daughter Mary, son in law Fares Abou-Zakhim, grandson Nicholas. Loving daughter Nour and son in law Patrick Kelly and granddaughter Sophia. Beloved brothers Fares and Linda Karoue, Eddie Karoue and Sherry Jacobs. Nour is known for her generous heart, her friendly personality, her hospitality, amazing food and famous twisty cookies. But most of all a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother to us. Family and friends will be received on Sunday November 10, 2024 at Rossi Funeral home in Canton from 5-7. On Monday November 11, 2024 from 10-11 will be the showing and the Funeral Service at 11 at St. George Orthodox Church in Canton, Ohio. Presiding will be The Very Reverend Father Michael Corbin and The Very Reverend Father Basil Shaheen.
