Patricia A.
Semonovich
June 1, 1938 – May 15, 2026
Patricia A. Semonovich, affectionately known as "Pat" or "Tish," age 87 of Canton, slipped away peacefully into her Savior's arms at home surrounded by her family on Friday, May 15, 2025, joining her Valentine, Bill, in Heaven.
Born and raised in Wood, Pennsylvania, a tiny coal-mining town by a humble family, rich in goodness, love, and their belief in God, Pat was not born of money or prestige, but of a giving and gracious heart. She loved her family with a passion, moving mountains and working tirelessly to provide for any need they may have had. She said many times that "family is everything."
Pat was a hard worker throughout her entire life, impressing all who knew her with her steadfast commitment. Her career began as a teacher at Sunshine Nursery School, where she demonstrated patience and care for young kids. For many years, she devoted her talents to the First Church of the Nazarene—now Be Life Church—where she wore many hats. Whether catering weddings or managing events, Pat was the indispensable "go-to" person, ensuring everything ran smoothly. She also worked at McKesson and Robbins, as well as handled the cleaning for the Belden Glass Towers, regaling her family with stories of the pure mayhem that happened within those walls. Remarkably, well into her 80s, she embarked on a new career at Chick-fil-A, where she found great joy connecting and joking around with the young kids she worked with.
Pat was authentic and true – what you saw is what you got, no pretense. She found beauty in the ordinary things in life; loving to sit in a sunbeam and marvel at God's hand in nature. She briefly lived in Texas and California, but missed experiencing the changing seasons and eventually returned to Ohio.
Pat’s personality was as vibrant as her life was full. Those who knew her often recall with laughter the countless “Lucy & Ethel” moments she found herself in—times filled with mischief and fun that perfectly captured her ornery, sassy character. She was the life of every gathering, the first to dance when music played, and likely the one to start any brewing trouble. She enjoyed her missionary "work and witness" trips with the church to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Alongside her busy career and spirited personality, Pat cherished quieter moments spent reading and solving puzzles.
Her proudest accomplishments were her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her heart. They saw her as much more than just a grandma, she was their best friend. Pat’s devotion to family was evident in all she did, including her marriage to the love of her life and her Valentine for 41 years, Bill. They were united in marriage on February 14, 1959, and their bond remained a cornerstone of her life's journey.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Semonovich; daughter-in-law Suzanne Semonovich; and sister Carolyn Donaldson.
Pat is survived by her children Susan (Ron) Corl, Jeff (Dee) Semonovich, and Jennifer (Paul) Price; seven grandchildren Devan, Braden (Caitlin), Jordan, Benjamin (Lana), Audrey, Lydia, Eric; and a much anticipated great-grandson who will bless us with his joyful appearance in September; and brother Gus (Paula) Carlson.
We are grateful for the memories - more funny moments to even count. There are no goodbyes because the laughs we shared are always with us.
Family and friends will be received at Be Life Church (formerly First Church of the Nazarene) Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the church at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dan Hanson officiating. Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Be Life Church, in Pat's name.
