Patricia Ann DeMarsh (Wentzel), 81, died December 16, 2014 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center
She was born August 7, 1933 to Ruth (Bachtel) and Homer Wentzel, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, John Leon DeMarsh, her five children; Elizabeth DeMarsh-Smith (Michael), Kathleen Marzilli (Joseph), James DeMarsh (Michelle), Nancy DeMarsh and Thomas DeMarsh (Bonnie), fourteen beloved grandchildren; Kathryn (Jess), Jennifer (Kai), Meredith (Alex), Elizabeth, Ryan, Leah, Samantha, Andrea, John, James, Zachary, Jeffry, Cameron and Chloe, four great grandchildren, a sister, Eileen Wentzel, CSJ of Cleveland, Ohio and brother, James Wentzel (Mary Lou) of Annandale, Virginia. Pat graduated from Central Catholic High School and attended Mercy Nursing School. Pat placed a high value on education. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of education and greatly influenced and supported a love of learning.
Pat served her community in many ways throughout her life in Canton Junior Sorosis, serving as their president, served as president of Walsh College's Women's Committee and served on its Board, United Way, the Timken Mercy Service League and as President of Stark County Council of Federated Women's Clubs. Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and arranged family trips to many different places. With her family, she also enjoyed boating and water skiing. She enjoyed her last ski at Lake Mohawk at age 71. Calling hours will be at Rossi Funeral Home Friday, December 19 from 6-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 am at St Michael Catholic Church, followed by entombment at Calvary Cemetery. The funeral procession will form at church Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
