November 2, 1926 – February 15, 2022
Patrick (Pat) Spotleson, age 95, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at The
Inn at Whitewood Village. Pat was born on November 2, 1926 to Domenic and Mary (Fusco)
Spatolisano and was a lifelong resident of Canton and member of St. Anthony-All Saints
Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Norma (Jean) Spotleson with whom he shared 68 years of marriage,
his daughter Suzi Spotleson, daughter Lisa (Spotleson) Baker and son-in-law Dennis Baker,
grandchildren Michael Harmon, Kyle and Kali Baker, sister-in-law Alice Spotleson and
numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter Patricia
Harmon, brothers Joe and Frank Spotleson, sister Marie Charley, sister-in-law Dolores (Garcia)
Spotleson, and brother-in-law Tony Charley. Pat is a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and went on to work in the horticulture
business for many years at I.G. Harman & Sons and the Leatherman Seed Company. Later in
life, Pat happened upon his favorite job as a school bus driver and later as a bus aide for Plain
Local Schools where he finally retired after 21 years of service at the age of 90. For enjoyment,
Pat spent countless hours outdoors soaking up the sunshine while nurturing his large vegetable
garden full of peppers, tomatoes, onions, broccoli, and cucumbers. He was also an avid high
school football fan for several decades, and enjoyed attending games at Glenoak and his alma
mater Canton McKinley. Family and friends will be received on Sunday, February 20 from 3 to 5pm at the Rossi Family Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 21 at 10am at St. Anthony\All Saints Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Tom Kraszewski as celebrant followed immediately by entombment in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony-All Saints Catholic Church in Pat's memory.
