Paul E. Vernier, age 86 of Canton, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from complications after surgery. He was born in Louisville, Ohio on September 28, 1938 to the late Glen and Beulah (Miller) Vernier. He was a graduate of Canton South High School, and after was employed by the railroad systems Penn Central and Conrail, where he later retired from. Working for so many years on the railroads, he came to collect a lot of railroad memorabilia. He also enjoyed collecting fishing lures and different kinds of clocks.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Vernier. Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years Rosemary (Evans) Vernier; children Valerie and Todd Vernier; and grandchildren Jessica, Kyle, Ashley, and Brooke.

Family and friends will be received at the Rossi Family Funeral Home on Friday, December 20, 2024 from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 12 noon, with Pastor Amy Downard officiating. Interment to follow in Northlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
