PHILIP JOHN RAYMOND PAPADOPULOS, beloved son of Philip V. and Ann (Arnold) Papadopulos, age 35 of Canton passed away Friday. A life-long resident of Canton, he was a 1996 graduate of McKinley High School and he also attended Xavier University. A longtime Customer Service employee with the 30 th St. Giant Eagle Grocery store, Phil was very involved in the Greek churches, and in the community. He was a UFCW union steward and a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and the Stark County Jefferson-Jackson Club. Phil was a compassionate and loving person who deeply loved and was loved by his family, many friends, co-workers, and customers. He was extremely intellectual with a quick wit and amazing sense of humor and never failed to make everyone around him laugh. Phil listened to people with his heart and always had a kind word to say to all those he met. His love of music was a big part of his life and he often attended concerts with his friends and siblings. He will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he is survived by siblings Alyssa Papadopulos and fiance Jimmy Bray, Melissa Papadopulos Shiepis and husband Keric, John Papadopulos and wife Xiaoyu Guo, Alexander Papadopulos, maternal grandmother Sylvia Arnold, niece Andrea Papadopulos, expected niece Baby Shiepis, uncle John Papadopulos who along with his late wife Penny were Philip's godparents, aunts Agnes (Ted) Bowers, Nancy (Daryl) Roberts, Kathleen Goff, Vivian (James) Stewart, cousins Denise Weirich, Randy Weirich, Shamaine Haubert, Tessa Presutti, Peggy Fernandez, Jennifer Stewart-King and numerous other cousins. He was preceded by his grandparents Philip P. and Morphe Papadopulos and Raymond H. Arnold. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the Rossi Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 to 11 am at the church. Trisagion Services will be Wednesday at 7 pm in the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Dr. Daniel Rogich officiating, assisted by Rev. C. G. Shiepis, Rev. Nicholas V. Gamvas, and Rev. Yanni Verginis. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Philip's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
